Wish List

Want to give something besides money to Shobi’s Table? That’s great! Here’s a list of things we can use in places like our kitchen and the food truck. (All supplies will be used in the shared kitchen at Christ on Capitol Hill in St Paul, so not only are you giving a practical gift to Shobi’s Table, but to all who do kitchen ministry in that space.)

Let us know what you’ll be purchasing, so we can update our list!

Where to Purchase Kitchen Equipment

As we work in a commercial kitchen, it’s important that we use commercial grade equipment. Fortunately, there are places open to the public in the Twin Cities and online where you can buy these things even if you’re not a restaurant owner.

Food Items

While most of our produce, and lots of other stuff is donated through Twin Cities Food Justice and other orgs, we do need to purchase other ingredients to fill out our meals! If you want to help Shobi’s Table with purchasing food, please know that the BEST WAY TO GIVE IS BY GIVING US A CASH DONATION! The way we spend your dollars at restaurant supply stretches a lot further than if you buy ingredients at a regular grocery store. HOWEVER if you’d really like to buy us food, you can buy us shelf stable, unopened items. BUY IN BULK (e.g. at Costco), and your dollar can stretch even farther for us!

Shelf Stable (UNOPENED) Bulk Ingredients Shobi’s Can Accept:

  • Olive Oil
  • Honey
  • Vinegar (Balsamic, Red Wine, Apple Cider- ensure it is Gluten Free, White Wine, Rice, etc.)
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Dried Cranberries
  • Raisins
  • Gluten Free Oats
  • Non-dairy milk alternatives
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Vanilla
  • Dried Coconut (preferably unsweetened)
  • Cashews – preferably roasted & salted
  • Almonds – raw
  • Nutritional Yeast
  • Gluten Free Rice Crispies
  • Tamari or Gluten Free Soy Sauce
  • Good Quality Lemon and Lime Juice

Compostable To Go Materials

Same deal. Your donated dollars CAN STRETCH MUCH FURTHER when we order compostable materials in bulk through our vendor Van Paper. However, if you’ve got a good source or have extra unopened packages of compostable to go materials, we’ll take the following:

  • Tri-compartment compostable clamshells
  • 8-9″ single compartment compostable clamshells
  • Compostable Boat style trays: small, medium and large
  • Compostable Forks, Spoons & Sporks
  • 10 and 8 oz paper compostable cups
  • Compostable “plastic” grocery bags
