Here’s what we’ll do together…

Community Cooking Nights

Ages 12 and up welcome! (1 adult per two kids please – all added in the total… so 4 kids + 2 adults = 1 full group)

***Come with closed-toed shoes and your hair restrained (a hat, bandana, ponytail, etc.***

Community Cooking Nights are when we gather to cook the food that will be served at the truck in the summer or the pop-up cafe in the winter.

No experience necessary to be a Community Cook!  Come if you love cooking, want to learn more, or just enjoy being with people and eating good food.

The nights will run like a relaxed cooking class and community meal – we’ll first have a brief kitchen orientation with safety and cooking basics, then we’ll dive into making several recipes from scratch – soups, salads, sandwiches, baked goods, etc.  Once things are ready, we’ll eat together – sampling our good work, then clean up and wrap the food up to be served the next day.

Come, cook, bake, mix, taste and see that the Lord is good!

Lunch At the Truck and Pop Up Cafe

On Lunch Days (1st and 3rd Fridays starting March 2020) from 10:45am-1pm (or until we run out) we serve lunch out of the foodtruck or pop-up cafe.

Summer at the Truck: 1 or 2 volunteers will help in the truck plating up food and keeping everything clean and safe. 2-4 volunteers will go out into the neighborhood inviting folks to come to lunch, and then hanging around the truck to help with beverages and chatting with neighbors. Of course, you’ll get to eat too!

Winter Pop Up Cafe: 1 or 2 volunteers will work as Servers, taking drink orders and bringing out plates of food. 2-4 volunteers will go outside and invite folks in bringing flyers with them. (*BRING LOTS OF LAYERS TO STAY WARM OUTSIDE!!*) Folks will also help with dishes and general clean up. And, of course – taking a break to share lunch with neighbors!
